That live chat box at the bottom of the site is called a Xat chat. It, being a live chat, has rules as well as the forums. The same rules for the forums (if you read them, if not go do so now) are applied to the chat as well. There is a private chat and if anything needs to be discussed there then please use it.
Quick Xat Manual
Change your name- You start out with a derpy name like wigglebottom or something like that. To change it just click the name then type in the box what you'd like your name to be and hit 'ok'.
Private Chat- To private chat with someone just click their name and click private chat.
Chane the picture- If you want to change your chat avatar just click your name and there will be a row of images. Pick one and click ok. If there aren't any you like in the row then just click any image and a new row opens up.
